Mary Beth Jenkins is a retail real estate broker and consultant. She is President of The Laramie Company, a Denver-based commercial real estate firm. With twenty-five years of experience in the shopping center industry, she is known for her deal-making and strategic consulting services for property owners, municipalities and institutional investors throughout the U.S. Her strategic leasing skills have defined, or redefined, retail markets around the country. In reporting her recent retail redevelopment work, the Denver Post and Investors Business Daily have dubbed Mary Beth as the Mall Doctor. Her achievements in developing strategy and implementing leasing goals have included malls from metropolitan Denver to downtown Houston, from San Francisco to Snowmass, Colorado. The Laramie Company’s projects include the redevelopment of under-performing retail properties, Main Street retail redevelopment and land planning for prospective future retail sites. For city governments and planners, Laramie serves as a ready resource for understanding and managing retail development, including economic and feasibility analysis, development services, property sales and leasing issues. A native New Yorker, Jenkins graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans with a BA in Urban Planning. She currently serves on the board of directors of DMCAR (Denver Metro Commercial Association of Realtors) and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the National Western Stock Show, Denver. She has been a board member of the Montessori Institute, Denver, for more than a decade.
