Barbara has been the Executive Director of the Independent Bankers of Colorado, the state’s largest banker trade association, exclusively representing the interests of community banks, since 1996. She was the Colorado’s first woman State Bank Commissioner, serving from 1991 to 1996. She also served as a First Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado representing the Colorado Divisions of Securities, Banking, and Financial Services and as a private practice attorney for 6 years. Upon graduating from the University of Denver, College of Law, she worked as a Staff Attorney with the Denver Regional Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission for four years. In addition to her Juris Doctor degree, Barbara received a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
